Ünal ERSÖZLÜ

Ünal Ersözlü started his journalism career in 1987 as a reporter for Yeni Gündem magazine. He then worked at Yeni Asır as a reporter, economics editor, editorial director, and columnist. He also held positions as a columnist at Barometre, Ateş, and Sabah newspapers. Before CNBC-E was founded, he anchored the main news bulletin on the predecessor television channel, Kanal-E. Additionally, he worked as a television host for Ege TV and İzmir TV. Between 2003 and 2013, Ersözlü served as the Mediterranean and Aegean Representative, editor-in-chief, and columnist at Sabah newspaper. He also held roles in corporate communication, including serving as the Press and Public Relations Director at Tansaş and coordinating campaign teams for Zülfü Livaneli (1994) and Ahmet Piriştina (1999). During Piriştina’s tenure, he was the General Manager of İzmir Publishing and the Mayor’s Media Advisor. He founded İzmir Kent Kitaplığı and launched İzmir Kent Kültürü magazine. Ersözlü has published eleven books, with some of his works receiving prestigious awards such as the Academy Poetry Achievement Award, Behçet Aysan Poetry Award, and Yunus Nadi Poetry Award. For his contributions to İzmir’s urban culture and Turkish poetry, he was honored with the Homeros Lifetime Achievement Award. He has also received multiple journalism awards. Since 2016, he has been serving as the Corporate Communications Director at Saya Holding.
